Westpark is a four-phased, 1500 acre master-planned community that opened for development in 2005. The acreage was originally parcelled out to a group of builders that included Centex, Pulte, Lennar Homes, and several more. The first two phases of the community were built, and then the real estate market slowed in 2008. Further development was halted until 2013. At completion, plans are to have 4585 homes, including 704 age-restricted homes by Del Webb, 16.8 commercial acres, 38 acres for community schools, and 43 acres of parks and wildlife preserves.
Phase 3 of Westpark has been re-sold to Meritage and KB Homes to build over 500 homes with acreage and about 250 with smaller lots and more affordable homes. There will be about 4.5 acres of parkland included in this section.
Phase 4 plans were redesigned and sold back to Lennar and Pulte homes to construct 887 single family homes and 170 condo units. A newly opened elementary school lets parents walk their kids to school. 14.0 acres are put aside for park land. In addition, 346 acres will be left as open space. 88 acres have been reserved for the developers for possible retail or industrial use.
Plans include a new middle and high school to be built in the community soon. The lifestyle in this established part of Westpark offers walking and biking trails, and residents are just steps from several restaurants and coffee shops. Concerts in the parks are enjoyed during the summer, and the beautiful landscaping offers a peaceful place to live and play.
Homes in Westpark come in all sizes and shapes, with many being energy efficient, solar powered, and loaded with every state-of-the-art amenity. Many have swimming pools, backyard entertainment settings, and privacy fencing. Homes range from 3 to 5 bedrooms on average and are priced from $300,000 to $600,000 or more. There is a very wide variety of models and price points - something for everyone.
For seniors, Westpark offers a Del Webb 55+ neighborhood called the Club at Westpark, which has a private community pool, clubhouse, and other amenities. Homes here are stunning, usually single story ranch-styled, and offer every convenience - some with a fireplace. Prices start in the mid $400's.
